The thing to keep in mind is that the Court itself is not that overwhelming. The game does not say it's a boss, so clearly it is not a boss and not scary. You technically spoiled that there even IS a boss.
TLDR, my opinion is to start a new file with the Court activated once you are feeling confident in the game. One other thing to note is that if you leave one of the Courtyard's "epic" length dungeons, you can re-enter and pick up where you left off next week. In other words, you need to bump each one of these bosses off when too many of your heroes have the Curse, otherwise you risk having people starve to death, or worse, having an encounter with a certain somebody. Killing the Baron, Viscount or Countess bosses will remove the Curse from everyone in your roster. Cursed characters will need blood whether they're in the dungeon or back at the hamlet.
Unlike heirlooms, Blood will appear in the provisions screen and can be taken into dungeons. Blood's gathered like busts, crests, scrolls and portraits, and there's also a District that produces two vials of Blood a week. Until you defeat the first Courtyard boss, you will not contract the Crimson Curse outside of the Courtyard area the Blood is a specific resource used to keep characters afflicted with the Crimson Curse alive. All of the Courtyard bosses do not fuck around, to be honest. In my book, this boss is definitely harder than the bosses in the regular areas. I'm not going to spoil him for you, but I strongly recommend you have a team of level 2 heroes (the highest you're allowed to use against him) with good trinkets. Unfortunately, in order to shut them up, you will need to go in there and fight a boss. This town event is basically all of the Courtyard denizens having a huge party and keeping everyone in the Hamlet up at night, reducing the effect of stress relief activities - and this event will get spammed over and over and over again until you go in there and shut them up. that starts off sealed until a town event triggers a few weeks into your campaign. The Courtyard is an additional area like the Cove, Warrens etc. TLDR: a team of level 2 heroes with good trinkets.
